Ready, Set, Gym Time!

The time has arrived! It’s a breakthrough in our progress moving forward! Barker Block is pleased to announce the re-opening of the gym facility located at the rooftop! This has been long anticipated as the association’s gym has not opened since the re-construction project, followed by the COVID-19 restrictions which makes it almost two years without the gym! 

Effective March 16, 2021, the rooftop gym will re-open for use by residents only with the restrictions and the social distancing requirements that still apply by Order of the Los Angeles Health Department and State requirements.

The number of residents allowed in the gym at any given time is limited to (2) persons with a max use period up to one-hour. Reservations are required for each use of the facility. Click to schedule your reservation https://barkerblock.getomnify.com/#!/home

We anticipate there will be an influx of resident activity using the gym facility. It’s completely understood that many are anxious to get back to pre-covid activities. Unfortunately, our State is not quite there, as California just reached the Red Level. It is of most importance that each person take the most precautionary measures to help keep Barker Block brand new gym facility well maintained without increasing the operational budget and the additional expenses incurred to meet health code compliance. PLEASE BRING YOUR TOWELS, WIPE ALL SURFACES BEFORE AND AFTER YOUR USE!

The facility hours are Sunday through Saturday from 7:00 a.m. to Midnight with the exception of two small breaks in between hours to allow for sanitation purposes. A deep cleaning of the gym/equipment will be performed at 6:00 a.m. daily. The extended hours for use up to midnight were considered to allow more residents the opportunity to use the facility due to the limited number of users per hour.

PLEASE RESPECT THE SCHEDULE! Everyone is eager to get some personal time to focus on health and well being. Be conscious and have compassion, when your time is up, it’s up! Kindly wipe down and allow the next guest to being their use time. Failure to respect such guidelines could result in the Board’s decision to close the facility until further noticed for larger capacity by the LA Health Orders. Don’t be the reason to shut the doors to this lovely amenity! Failure to comply may result in a hearing, monetary fines and/or use being revoked for repeated offenders that do not comply with these amended guidelines.

The ventilation will be adjusted to increase the amount of fresh air in the room and to help improve the air circulation the sliding door will remain open while the front door will remain shut at all times.

Wearing of masks is still required while using the equipment or interacting with each other, except for when drinking water. The gym equipment has been spaced out to meet the social distance order.

The Association will also provide hand sanitizer and cleaning wipes for your use upon entry and when exciting the gym. Remember to wipe the equipment before and after your use. We encourage you to bring your own towels, yoga mats, stretch balls, etc. as those are not currently provided by the HOA. 

An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. By using the common area/rooftop amenities, including the pool, spa, grills, fire-pits, cabanas, gym room and equipment, etc., you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19 and agree to abide by the rule changes and guidelines provided herein, and the applicable L.A. County Health Codes & Protocols, and all other applicable rules.

Please respect each user reservation time as we anticipate that residents are eager to use the gym! Let’s make this re-opening a successful process for Barker Block!
