Meet the Board of Directors

Eliot Kiang, President – I have been a homeowner and business owner in Downtown Los Angeles since 2006. I am the original owner of my loft at Barker Block since 2010. I’m semi-retired, but still active in the community as a business manager and landlord. I proudly service as a member of the Arts District Little Tokyo Neighborhood Council. It has also been an honor to serve as the President of Barker Block Homeowners Association over the past two years. I hope to bring some synergy as I work with our District Council and the our HOA. My goal in serving as President of the Board of Directors is to keep the community maintained up to a high standard and bring betterments and improvements that will benefit property values, including finalzing the Restatement of the HOA Governing Documents. Damien McKay, Secretary – I have been a resident and owner at Barker Block since 2009. I served as a Board member for a brief period in 2020, which gave me some experience working with the Homeowners Association and I know the time required for meetings and making important decisions. I am proud to serve on the Board and hope to make a difference to help keep our community great. (On-Site Owner)

Gwenaelle Gobe, Treasurer – Barker Block has been my home since 2006. I love living here. The Arts District central location, the building’s beautiful blend of contemporary architecture with historic character, and the great friendships I have cultivated with my neighbors all make Barker Block a wonderful place to live. I have been a resident for more than a decade, and I proudly serve on the Board of Directors. I strive to create an honest and transparent communication channel between the Board and our community on decisions regarding aesthetic changes to the building, landscaping, the upkeep of common aras and issues of building security and safety. I will carefully consider how we manage decisions that impact future property values while keeping expenditures within the budget. (On-Site Owner)
